CaptureSeal vs GPS Map Camera
Last updated
GPS Map Camera apps are hugely popular, especially in India, for stamping a map, address and coordinates onto photos, and they’re ad-supported. CaptureSeal is an ad-free camera app, coming soon to iPhone and Android, that stamps the address, GPS and time and seals each capture so anyone can verify it wasn’t edited.

Why people look for an alternative
In our scan of 602 one- and two-star reviews across 11 timestamp and GPS camera apps (October 14, 2026), ads were a top complaint (63 reviews category-wide), alongside wrong locations (79). Google’s autocomplete suggests “gps camera without ads” to people typing “gps camera with…”.
There’s a second issue: a stamp is just pixels. Searches like “gps map camera editor” show that people want to change stamps after the fact, which is exactly why a stamp on its own can’t prove anything to the person receiving the photo. A CaptureSeal capture can be checked.
When GPS Map Camera is the better fit
- You need an app today. CaptureSeal hasn’t launched yet.
- You need a map thumbnail inside the photo, as some government geotagging schemes and employers ask for.
- You want the lowest price and don’t mind ads.
When CaptureSeal is the better fit
- The person receiving your photos needs to trust they weren’t edited or re-dated.
- You want no ads and no account.
- You want GPS accuracy shown with every fix, and an honest “approximate” label when it’s poor.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is CaptureSeal a GPS Map Camera alternative without ads?
Yes, once it launches on iPhone and Android (coming soon). CaptureSeal stamps the address, GPS coordinates, date and time on photos and video, shows no ads, and seals each capture so it can be verified.
Does CaptureSeal put a map in the stamp?
No. CaptureSeal’s stamp shows the address, coordinates with accuracy, date and time, and a QR code. The verify page shows the location on a map. If you need a map thumbnail inside the photo, GPS Map Camera-style apps do that.
Will CaptureSeal be available in India?
Yes. At launch, Pro is planned at ₹199/month or ₹999/year, and the free tier is the same everywhere.
Is there an Android version?
It’s coming. CaptureSeal is launching on iPhone and Android together; join the waitlist to hear on launch day. Today, the Android GPS Map Camera (gpsmapcamera.com) has 100M+ installs on Google Play.
